Luxottica is known as the premium eyewear brand that dominates luxury and sports eyewear. Housing brands such as Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Oakley, Dolce & Gabbana Miu Miu and Rayban, it’s no surprise that any event involving this brand would be just as luxurious.
The Luxottica Spring/Summer event was held at the equally luxurious restaurant, Bilboa in Camps Bay. This location provided a glamorous view that overlooks Camps Bay beach, in all its late afternoon glory. Bilboa is a “little slice of Miami, with all the flavour and sophistication you could imagine”. The fresh interior, with beautiful wooden finishes amongst the minimalist all white, gave the event that perfect Spring/Summer feeling (perfect for shopping around for the appropriate pair of luxury glasses!)
The attendees were just as stylish as the brands on display, showcasing some of the hottest new Spring/Summer trends. Fashionista’s sipped on champagne and made their way around the venue trying on glasses, and doing what fashionista’s do best, instagramming!
Delicious, fresh canapés circulated the event to keep these busy, stylish individuals sustained.
All of the luxury brands on display showcased wide ranges of classic frames, tinted lenses and trendy shapes and colour schemes. Many brands stuck to their iconic looks, while introducing ranges of on-trend, bold glasses.
Miu Miu showcased rich gem tones in a range of thicker, circular frames that displayed an ombre effect. Tortoiseshell arms seemed to be a signature finish.
Prada provided a variety of on-trend glasses; including a range of colour lenses and “frameless” effects. Prada also provided a classic range of neutral tinted lenses in a variety of shapes and sizes; giving off a classic sophisticated feel.
Classic “reading” frames were elevated by Vogue’s colourful frames in fresh reds, blues and whites.
Oakley’s sporty lenses caught the attention of the crowds with their reflective lenses and bright frames. No longer is the traditional sporty Oakley look reserved for sport, it has now become the must have look (especially for those sports luxe looks!).
Dolce & Gabbana showcased their classic luxury looks with bold, thick frames and darker tones.
Overall, the luxury brands on display did not disappoint. There was an abundance of choice from the classics to the trendy contemporary. The perfect Summer/Spring feeling of the event made for the perfect setting to explore new trends and looks. Guests were gifted a pair of classic framed, orange tinted Raybans; the absolute perfect must have item for the upcoming style season!
